half up braided bun tutorial with Alterna

Hey guys! This month I partnered with Alterna Haircare to showcase their CAVIAR Infinite Color Hold Line for color-treated hair and show you a half up braided bun tutorial. I have highlighted my natural dark-blonde hair since I was 15 so I know a thing or two about the upkeep required for beach-blonde tresses! For me, the key to keeping color-treated hair long, strong and vibrant is making sure it’s cared for between salon appointments. I try to only color my hair once every 10-12 weeks so I can keep it healthy. CAVIAR Infinite Color Hold products keep my hair super vibrant so I can go 70 days without going back for highlights! I love that you can use it two ways - I can add it to my conditioner in the shower like a masque or as a leave-in treatment after blow-drying. 

Here’s how I use the Caviar Infinite Color Hold Line to create a vibrant hairstyle that’s easy enough for everyday wear. 

I start with the Shampoo and Conditioner which help extend my color plus all Alterna products are sulfate and paraben free so they don’t strip my hair. After washing the hair I apply 3 pumps of the Color Hold Vibrancy Serum to towel dried hair. It smells amazing and makes my hair feel like silk! It even protects it from UV damage and helps preserve the color for 70 days. 

After blow drying the hair I start the look by taking hair from one side of the part and split it into three sections to begin a simple three-strand braid. I braid the hair around to the back of the crown of the head and secure with a bobby pin. The Vibrancy Serum really helps to smooth down my hair as I’m braiding for this look.

Repeat the process on the other side so you have two braids that meet at the back of the head. 

Unpin and gather both sides of the braid along with some additional hair from the crown of the head, twist down the length of the hair and wrap into a bun. Secure with bobby pins.

Volia the final result!  

For added shine and UV protection I add a spritz of the CAVIAR Infinite Color Hold Topcoat Shine Spray focusing on the ends of the hair.
